How we work
What to expect when you book a pickup with us
Know the range before we come. Know the exact price before we lift. Here is how the pickup is arranged, what we bring, how your Instant Photo Estimate becomes a confirmed final price, and how payment and cancellations work.
Know the range before we come. Know the exact price before we lift.
Who we are
Haul Hounds is a junk removal company working across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, from Vancouver through to Langley. Services include garage and basement clear-outs, single-item furniture pickups, renovation debris, yard waste and full property cleanouts.
We come to you with the truck and do the lifting, so there is nothing to drop off and no depot to visit. Pricing is by volume — how much of the truck you fill — and the quote you approve on arrival includes the labour and the disposal fees. Help load if you want to save 10% — otherwise you never lift a thing, we've got it.
How a booking works, step by step
- 01
You get in touch
Upload photos for an Instant Photo Estimate, send the quote form, or text photos of the pile. Photos let us give you a tight price range before anyone drives out.
- 02
You get an Instant Photo Estimate
You get an Estimated Price Range with the load size we read from the photos, plus anything we cannot legally take. It is an estimate, not a final price, and nothing is booked until you are happy with it.
- 03
We book the pickup
We agree the date and arrival window, and sort out parking, elevator bookings or strata notice if your building needs them.
- 04
Final price confirmed before we load
Your hauler verifies the load size, confirms the exact final price, and waits for your approval before lifting anything. Nothing is loaded until you say go.
- 05
We load and sort
Everything is carried out, and at the other end the load is split into donation, recycling, green waste and landfill.
Our practices and policies
We publish only what we can stand behind. Where a detail has not been confirmed yet, it is marked rather than filled in with something vague, and you can always ask us directly.
Who turns up at your door
You are told the arrival window in advance and we contact you if the route is running late.
How the price is set
Pricing is by volume: the fraction of the truck your items fill once loaded.
Insurance and coverage
Haul Hounds carries commercial general liability insurance. Proof of coverage is available on request.
Where your junk actually goes
Usable furniture and household goods go to donation partners.
Care for your property
Doorways and floors are protected on the way out, and doors come off hinges rather than couches being forced through them.
What we cannot take
Hazardous material — paint, solvents, fuel, propane, asbestos — plus biohazard and medical waste and vehicles.
Access and parking
Tell us about lanes, permit streets, loading bays, parkade height limits and elevator bookings when you book.
Payment
You approve the price before anything is loaded. There is no deposit before you have a quote.
Changes and cancellations
Plans change. Call or text as early as you can and we move the pickup to the next suitable slot.
The people who come to your home
You are told before the visit who to expect and how long the pickup is likely to take. Your hauler arrives with the truck, straps and dollies, and only removes what you have pointed out.
